Why Alion
Why Alion Energy
Alion Energy’s technology suite delivers the most power from PV. Our evolved pv tracker designs, combined with a selection of extruded and reflective ballasted foundations enable clients to build local, utility scale projects faster and with significantly less labor. Further, energy output is maximized with simple, cost-effective cleaning & albedo control robots. The entire tracking structure and method was designed from the ground up to work with our robots, and the robots were designed to work with our mounting. The result is the lowest cost of electricity in the solar industry. As an innovative EPC and O&M service provider, we build local, utility scale projects faster and for up to 20% less, while producing more energy than standard projects.
Higher Energy Yields
We offer a holistic solution covering foundations, tracking structures and robotics. Our reflective foundations allow tracker heights to be optimized to maximize bifacial gains from both direct and diffuse sources of irradiance. Our foundations also help prevent vegetation blocking reflected light from reaching rear-side bifacial cells while improving site fire safety. To ensure higher performance, our O&M robotics platform can clean in dry and wet modes and will also measure and remediate site albedo levels.
Lower Installed Costs
Smaller crews, faster installations and fewer materials deliver higher profits and make local, utility-scale projects more affordable. Construction schedule may be more level-loaded as foundation installation may be completed while steel structural components are in transit by ship.
Higher Panel Performance
SPOT – the most asset efficient, cost-effective dry & wet robotic cleaning solution – provides automated solar hygiene to prevent performance loss due to soiling, especially in desert and dusty areas. />
Ideal for Challenging Environments
While we improve the LCOE for any project, our non-penetrating, concrete rail system and powerful adhesives are ideal for:
- Brownfields and landfills where soil can’t be penetrated
- Rocky, active clay, karst soils and high water tables
- Environments that can corrode metal
- High-wind environments
