Our Management Team

Our management team has deep expertise with every level of the solar value chain. Our experience begins with manufacturing, continues through project development and installation, and ends with quality operations and maintenance. Together, our team has produced over 4 GW of solar energy.

 

Mark Kingsley, President & CEOMark joined Alion after leading Trina Solar’s rapid growth and global expansion as the Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, Mark led the turnaround of ABB’s >$1B Robotics business unit. While a Senior Executive at GE, Mark served as the Chief Marketing Officer of $1.8B GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. Prior to his CMO role, Mark was an executive in GE’s $6B plastics business. He served as General Manager of automotive marketing in Tokyo, Japan; President of Latin America in Saõ Paulo, Brazil; and Product Manager in Selkirk, New York.

 

Jesse Atkinson, Vice President, Marketing and Development: Jesse has over 5 years of experience in utility scale PV project development with First Solar. He developed First Solar’s initial utility scale projects, including the 21 MW Blythe project and 30 MW Cimarron project. Jesse holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas.

 

 

 

Sean Bailey Ph.D., Director of R&DSean Bailey Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer: Sean brings deep technical experience in the field of robotics and over 8 years of experience in utility scale solar. Sean earned a Ph.D. from Stanford in mechanical engineering with a focus on robotics. He used this training to integrate robotics into Apple’s production line, which enabled new CPU cooling technologies for the Mac Pro. Prior to joining Alion, Sean was the mechanical design technical lead for SunPower’s single-axis tracker, and was responsible for the design release of the 250MW CVSR power plant.

Managing Partner, Bright Capital, Mikhail Chuchkevich:  Mikhail has over 15 years of strategic planning, business development, private equity and venture investment experience. Prior to joining Bright Capital LLC, Mikhail worked at Rusnano (Russian leading venture investor with over 10B USD capital base) as a Managing Director, Project Office Director and Executive Advisor to CEO as well as held various positions in private equity and advisory assignments in CIS, UK and the Middle East. Mikhail holds a PhD in management.

 

CEO, Global Cleantech Capital, Paul Kloppenborg, PhD:  Paul Kloppenborg is a founder and CEO of Global Cleantech Capital, a growth capital private equity fund focused on building clean energy companies and was formerly the CEO of the Entrepreneurs Fund, also a private equity fund with focus in clean energy through Good Energies, its sub-fund. Paul and his team have invested in over 27 clean energy companies helping to build industry leaders in solar and wind.  Prior to his 12 years as a private equity investor, Paul held key management positions, both in private and listed companies in the Netherlands, USA and Germany, and in the capital-intensive industries of Construction & Real Estate Development, Telecommunications & Media and Pipeline & Infrastructure Contracting.
