Our Management Team

Our management team has deep expertise with every level of the solar value chain. Our experience begins with manufacturing, continues through project development and installation, and ends with quality operations and maintenance. Together, our team has produced over 4 GW of solar energy.

 

Mark Kingsley, President & CEO: Mark joined Alion after leading Trina Solar’s rapid growth and global expansion as the Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, Mark led the turnaround of ABB’s >$1B Robotics business unit. While a Senior Executive at GE, Mark served as the Chief Marketing Officer of $1.8B GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. Prior to his CMO role, Mark was an executive in GE’s $6B plastics business. He served as General Manager of automotive marketing in Tokyo, Japan; President of Latin America in Saõ Paulo, Brazil; and Product Manager in Selkirk, New York.

 

Marc Zablatsky, CFO: Marc has a 25-year track record of financial leadership, fundraising and accelerating growth for early stage companies, turnarounds and international organizations ready to scale. He is a builder of businesses in B2C / B2BC technology-focused organizations in consumer goods & services, retail, SaaS and education and the emerging aging marketplace. Marc has extensive experience setting up and running teams in FP&A, Fundraising, Corporate Strategy, Operations, Business and Product Development, Quality Assurance, Customer Service and Marketing.
Marc is also a strong supporter of social enterprise ventures. He was CEO of Fitness Forward, COO of Management Leadership for Tomorrow and was President of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club. To help startups with smarter finance, Marc is armed with an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S from Babson College where he triple major in Finance, Economics and Marketing and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

President, Cratus Energy, Board Member, Alion Energy, Jesse Atkinson:  Jesse has over 10 years of experience in solar energy, including 5 years of utility scale PV project development and business development with Turner Renewable Energy and First Solar. He developed First Solar’s initial utility scale projects, including the 21 MW Blythe project and 30 MW Cimarron project, as well as a large portfolio acquisition of over 2GW. Additionally, Jesse helped establish First Solar’s office in China and led initial project development efforts there. With Alion Energy, he leads marketing and business development efforts globally. Jesse holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas.

 

Board Member, Alion Energy, Mark Austin:  Mark is a Venture Partner with Bright Capital, a global venture capital firm focused on investments in clean and alternative energy, energy and resource efficiency, advanced materials, energy storage, agtech, water, and green chemistry.  Prior to Bright Capital, as Managing Director of Chandler Reed LLC, Mr. Austin served as a strategic growth advisor to CEOs of microcap, growth stage, new ventures and start­up technology­ based companies, and was a consultant at UNDP’s Sustainable Energy & Environment Division (SEED) in the area of sustainable technologies globally, as well as to other UN agencies.  Earlier, Mr. Austin has been a serial tech entrepreneur in the fields of electro­optics, medical devices, and advanced materials manufacturing systems. As a start­up entrepreneur, he has patents issued in 30 countries and has won international design awards. Mr. Austin serves on the Board of Directors of several VC­funded technology companies, and on the National Renewable Energy Lab’s (NREL) Investment Advisory Board.  He has mentored entrepreneurs in Africa, is an advisor to tech start­up incubators, and is an Entrepreneur­in­Residence (EIR) with NYSERDA (NYS Energy Research & Development Authority).  He presents regularly at conferences in the US, and has spoken at conferences from Beijing to Bilbao, Kingston to Krasnoyarsk, on venture investing, entrepreneurship, strategy, innovation and sustainable technologies.  Mr. Austin is a graduate of Williams College.
